Fuji Announces X100F and X-T20
Photographing Prosthetics Prototypes
Today Fujifilm announced the X100F camera, which I've been eagerly anticipating, as I didn't upgrade to the X100T after owning the X100S. Based on what I've seen, the improvements are to be as expected. But will I get the F? Hmm, I'm actually not so sure...
Not Christmas Photos
I photographed prototypes of lower-leg prosthetics created by my wife's industrial design students.
Squeezing in the Photography
The winter holidays are a great time to photograph - family and friends, lights, rich colors, carefully prepared and displayed food, traveling out of town, inclement weather... I always try to find things to photograph that are a little off the beaten track, not the center of attention, or which require a more careful look to find. In other words, not your usual Christmas photos.
Hot pictures for a cold day
We all have busy schedules so it can be tough to find stretches of time to photograph, and I at least have to be opportunistic about getting a series of images rather than just odd snapshots. Earlier this year I attended a conference in San Antonio which gave me an opportunity to photograph people in a new setting. Here are some of my favorite shots from that couple of days.
First Shots with Olympus Pen E-PL7 (and why I bought it)
We've got our first cold snap going on here in Oakland, California, and it got me thinking of a hotter climate I had a chance to visit a few years ago: Dubai.
Optimizing Surface Book Speed for Lightroom
Even though I'm normally a Fuji shooter, I picked up an Olympus Pen E-PL7 as a combo small casual/travel and a night photography camera. Why did I do that? Read on to find out, and to see some first shots.
First Outing with Fujifilm 23mm f/2 WR lens
A short video by FutureLight Studios shows how to significantly improve the speed of Lightroom on Surface Books equipped with the discrete Nvidia GPU.
No More Apple
From a visit to Napa Valley and wine country in Northern California, first shots with the new Fujifilm 23mm f/2 lens. How does this small, relatively inexpensive lens perform?
Much to my surprise, I recently made the switch from Mac to Windows, and now no longer use a single Apple product or service. Here are some thoughts on why as a photographer I switched, and what it's been like so far.
